  1. 2017 Nov 15 Challenge

After we moved to our new house, I decided to try making pies for Thanksgiving instead of turkey because we don't have family in town and are usually by ourselves for the holiday. There was no sense in making a huge bird. It turned out to be a success. One daughter complained and wanted turkey, but we've been doing this for the past 4 years, and now she asks what kind of pies we will have.
  2. 2017 Nov 1 Challenge Favorite

A simple page for my then 3-year-old daughter. I try to record each of their favorites for every birthday year, but it's hit or miss. I don't have credits for this page because before I could run my credit script, I ran a group action not realizing it would flatten all the pages I had been working on! Oops.

  4. Welcome to the mid October Challenge! Are you in the depths of fall leaves and Halloween spooks? Or, are you looking for signs of spring to come? My desert home is just starting to cool off and bring the temperatures out of the 90's and into the high 70's. It's my favorite time to get outside with my camera. Cool at night, and warm during the day. Whatever your weather, I hope you'll celebrate it with me in my challenge. The challenge is to take a photo looking up or looking down and scrap it. Perhaps it's your feet in a puddle, or the sun peeking between the golden leaves of autumn. Look up and down and snap a photo or a few, then scrap. For these photos, I was looking up at the climbers. I like how high up they look because of the perspective of looking up. It makes their climbing accomplishment seem larger. Your photo does not require people. Mine just happened to have people. I can't wait to see what you find to photograph. Please upload your layout into the Challenge Gallery and post a link to it here in this thread by October 31st, 2017. You can find directions for uploading layouts to the gallery here and how to link the layout to this post here. And now for the prizes (all prize winners chosen randomly): (1) $30.00 discount coupon towards a class of your choice (1) $20.00 discount coupon towards a class of your choice (1) $10.00 discount coupon towards a class of your choice You can only win one prize per challenge each month. **Please note** There will now be two challenges per month and you can now save your discount coupon to combine them to be used at a later date for a class or live event.

  8. I can't believe that it's already the middle of September! It's my favorite time of year...Fall! While I really don't get much of the cooler weather or colorful leaves in Florida I still love everything about fall. This month's challenge is to use the Mood Board below to inspire you to create a Fall themed page. Think warm drinks, reading books, walking in the leaves, rich colors, and a bit of bokeh. You can use whatever inspires you from the Mood Board below to create a brand new page. Here is my page - I was inspired by the window pane, the colors, the coffee, leaves, swirls and little bit of book print. Click the layout for credits. I'm excited to see what you create this month! Please upload your layout into the Challenge Gallery and post a link to it here in the this thread by September 30, 2017. Tell us what in the mood board inspired you. You can find directions for uploading layouts to the gallery here and how to link the layout to this post here. I was inspired by the blue and food on the mood board. I used Tiffany's Scrap Focus It's Elemental mini class to instruct me on clustering.
  11. We just finished a week of challenges for our birthday week here at Scrapaneers. I thought the challenge to make a layout based on a mood board of random things looked like fun and even though the challenge is over, I'm going to try that. It's a new type of challenge for me. Before now I have always enjoyed doing a scraplift challenge and I don't much like the challenge where they give you something to add to your layout each day and try to throw a curveball at you. In the end, I want to come out with a layout I'm happy with. What kinds of challenges do you enjoy? Maybe we can include some in our monthly challenges.

  16. April 2017 Challenge

I used https://www.allposters.com/-sp/The-Wizard-of-Oz-There-s-No-Place-Like-Home-Posters_i9385422_.htm for inspiration. Did some extraction and perspective warp on some photos, still need to hone content aware skills to fill in some spots. Also used Tiffany's Guide to Shadowing as instruction to create the shadows.

  23. One of the most popular challenges during our birthday week celebration was the mood board challenge. For those of you who haven't worked with a mood board before, it is just using a compilation of photos to inspire you to create a layout. So the October challenge will be to create a layout based on the following mood board: Your layout can be as simple as using one or two of the colors or as complex as creating your own fantasy world. Anything goes, just tell us what inspired your layout. I decided to go the full fantasy route with tips and tricks I first learned in Tiffany's Guide to Blending class and also in Champions where I learned more about blending modes. So here's my layout of my granddaughter inspired by the underwater scene, the teal and rust colors, and the bubbles. Post your layouts in the challenge gallery and link it to this forum topic by October 31, 2016. And now for the prizes (all prize winners chosen randomly): (1) $30.00 discount coupon towards a class of your choice (1) $20.00 discount coupon towards a class of your choice (1) $10.00 discount coupon towards a class of your choice You can only win one prize in the challenge each month. Instructions on how to post a layout in the gallery and how to link it to this thread are pinned to the top of the category. I hope you'll join the challenge and good luck!
  24. Donald Duck

A layout using Jump Start Designs template, Club Scrap digi papers (altered with July 2016 Champions techniques), stamps, embellishments and titles. I used several techniques learned here recently...diagonal papers, layering embellishments, shadowing, extractions and brushing over images to look like real stamps. Created using red, white and blue for my flag colors.
