  6. This has always been a tough style for me and I am so impressed by the entries. Good luck everyone. I am so inspired to see the creativity here. This is a photo of 2 of my children's Ethiopian Grandmother taken by me when we made a homeland visit in 2009. The brush element is an Ethiopian angel created from a photo from an ancient church we visited during that trip. Balanesh told me she "Gave her grandchildren to God" when she made an adoption plan for them and she never thought she would see them again so it was a quite something to find her and let our families connect - and for her to see her grandchildren surviving and doing well in their adopted country. So this minimalist LO describes this story - how angels must have looked over us all during the years keeping us safe and then helping us find each other when the time was right. Credits - the papers are retired Anna Aspnes - from her mono collection Creme. I used a brush I made - of an Ethiopian Angle and the large version I used a gold style from NBK designs. The feathers are retired DSP elements from their Sending Hope kit Font is LDJ Jillography.

  12. All Through the Night

This layout is in celebration of my baby sleeping All Through the Night. The text in the moon is a lullaby - Sleep, my child and peace attend thee, all through the night. Guardian angels God has sent thee, all through the night. Soft the drowsy hours are creeping, hill and dale in slumber sleeping. I, my loving vigil keeping, all through the night.

  14. Mackinac Island in the Rain

I've always wanted to stay at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island in Michigan and sit and rock on the famous porch. We went with a Rotary Convention and it rained all weekend. I thought this was the perfect layout to do in this minimalistic style. I just wanted to capture the raining day feeling. I did not put any shadows on the photo or journaling box because I wanted it to look like they were stuck to a piece of glass.

  15. Happy to be Me

I don't normally do minimalist pages so this was a challenge I've been working at this for a couple of days, as I couldn't get a look I was happy with. I do love this photo of me, as Steve managed to snap this when I wasn't looking and I love how it looks in black & white. I hope I have managed to do this within the rules.
