Water on Camera lens

5 posts in this topic

Hi All...just a quick question.  I was taking pictures outside yesterday and had a drop or two of water fall on my long lens and didn't realize it until I had extended and retracted the lens.  Some water got under the edge and probably on the barrel.  I tried to suck it up with a paper towel, then left the lens extended and tilted downward overnight.  Is there anything else I should do?  It's pretty dry in my house so I'm hoping that will take care of it.  I have desiccant so I could put it in a baggie with a bunch of packets (?).  Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks for the video! Plus, now I know how to remove fungus from a lens!  Win win!

Oh my, I didn't know you could get fungus on a lens.

I didn't either, but I guess it makes sense!  I think I got the moisture out of mine and hopefully, there is no fungus!
